When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to destroy the whole royal family.
But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram and sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the royal princes, who were about to be murdered. She put him and his nurse in a bedroom to hide him from Athaliah; so he was not killed.
He remained hidden with his nurse at the temple of the Lord for six years while Athaliah ruled the land.
In the seventh year Jehoiada sent for the commanders of units of a hundred, the Carites and the guards and had them brought to him at the temple of the Lord. He made a covenant with them and put them under oath at the temple of the Lord. Then he showed them the king's son.
He commanded them, saying, "This is what you are to do: You who are in the three companies that are going on duty on the Sabbath-a third of you guarding the royal palace,
a third at the Sur Gate, and a third at the gate behind the guard, who take turns guarding the temple-
and you who are in the other two companies that normally go off Sabbath duty are all to guard the temple for the king.
Station yourselves around the king, each of you with weapon in hand. Anyone who approaches your ranks is to be put to death. Stay close to the king wherever he goes."
The commanders of units of a hundred did just as Jehoiada the priest ordered. Each one took his men-those who were going on duty on the Sabbath and those who were going off duty-and came to Jehoiada the priest.
Then he gave the commanders the spears and shields that had belonged to King David and that were in the temple of the Lord.
The guards, each with weapon in hand, stationed themselves around the king-near the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.
Jehoiada brought out the king's son and put the crown on him; he presented him with a copy of the covenant and proclaimed him king. They anointed him, and the people clapped their hands and shouted, "Long live the king!"
亞哈謝的母親亞他利雅見他兒子死了，就起來剿滅王室。
但約蘭王的女兒，亞哈謝的妹子約示巴，將亞哈謝的兒子約阿施從那被殺的王子中偷出來，把他和他的乳母都藏在臥房裡，躲避亞他利雅，免得被殺。
約阿施和他的乳母藏在耶和華的殿裡六年；亞他利雅篡了國位。
第七年，耶何耶大打發人叫迦利人（或作：親兵）和護衛兵的眾百夫長來，領他們進了耶和華的殿，與他們立約，使他們在耶和華殿裡起誓，又將王的兒子指給他們看，
吩咐他們說：「你們當這樣行：凡安息日進班的三分之一要看守王宮，
三分之一要在蘇珥門，三分之一要在護衛兵院的後門。這樣把守王宮，攔阻閒人。
你們安息日所有出班的三分之二要在耶和華的殿裡護衛王；
各人手拿兵器，四圍護衛王。凡擅入你們班次的必當治死，王出入的時候，你們當跟隨他。」
眾百夫長就照著祭司耶何耶大一切所吩咐的去行，各帶所管安息日進班出班的人來見祭司耶何耶大。
祭司便將耶和華殿裡所藏大衛王的槍和盾牌交給百夫長。
護衛兵手中各拿兵器，在壇和殿那裡，從殿右直到殿左，站在王子的四圍。
祭司領王子出來，給他戴上冠冕，將律法書交給他，膏他作王；眾人就拍掌說：「願王萬歲！」
以斯帖記 2:7
Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This young woman, who was also known as Esther, had a lovely figure and was beautiful. Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died.
末底改撫養他叔叔的女兒哈大沙（後名以斯帖），因為他沒有父母。這女子又容貌俊美；他父母死了，末底改就收他為自己的女兒。

所以，你施捨的時候，不可在你前面吹號，像那假冒為善的人在會堂裡和街道上所行的，故意要得人的榮耀。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。
你施捨的時候，不要叫左手知道右手所做的，
要叫你施捨的事行在暗中。你父在暗中察看，必然報答你（有古卷：必在明處報答你）。」
馬太福音 25:40
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them."
「你們若愛我，就必遵守我的命令。

民數記 27:1

The daughters of Zelophehad son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Makir, the son of Manasseh, belonged to the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. The names of the daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah and Tirzah. They came forward
and stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders and the whole assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting and said,
"Our father died in the wilderness. He was not among Korah's followers, who banded together against the Lord, but he died for his own sin and left no sons.
Why should our father's name disappear from his clan because he had no son? Give us property among our father's relatives."
So Moses brought their case before the Lord,
屬約瑟的兒子瑪拿西的各族，有瑪拿西的玄孫，瑪吉的曾孫，基列的孫子，希弗的兒子西羅非哈的女兒，名叫瑪拉、挪阿、曷拉、密迦、得撒。他們前來，

When you beat the olives from your trees, do not go over the branches a second time. Leave what remains for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow.
When you harvest the grapes in your vineyard, do not go over the vines again. Leave what remains for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow.
Remember that you were slaves in Egypt. That is why I command you to do this.
「你不可向寄居的和孤兒屈枉正直，也不可拿寡婦的衣裳作當頭。
要記念你在埃及作過奴僕。耶和華你的神從那裡將你救贖，所以我吩咐你這樣行。

"Have you acted honorably and in good faith by making Abimelek king? Have you been fair to Jerub-Baal and his family? Have you treated him as he deserves?
Remember that my father fought for you and risked his life to rescue you from the hand of Midian.
But today you have revolted against my father's family. You have murdered his seventy sons on a single stone and have made Abimelek, the son of his female slave, king over the citizens of Shechem because he is related to you.
So have you acted honorably and in good faith toward Jerub-Baal and his family today? If you have, may Abimelek be your joy, and may you be his, too!
But if you have not, let fire come out from Abimelek and consume you, the citizens of Shechem and Beth Millo, and let fire come out from you, the citizens of Shechem and Beth Millo, and consume Abimelek!"
Then Jotham fled, escaping to Beer, and he lived there because he was afraid of his brother Abimelek.
「現在你們立亞比米勒為王，若按誠實正直善待耶路巴力和他的全家，這就是酬他的勞。
從前我父冒死為你們爭戰，救了你們脫離米甸人的手。
你們如今起來攻擊我的父家，將他眾子七十人殺在一塊磐石上，又立他婢女所生的兒子亞比米勒為示劍人的王；他原是你們的弟兄。
你們如今若按誠實正直待耶路巴力和他的家，就可因亞比米勒得歡樂，他也可因你們得歡樂；
不然，願火從亞比米勒發出，燒滅示劍人和米羅眾人，又願火從示劍人和米羅人中出來，燒滅亞比米勒。」
約坦因怕他弟兄亞比米勒，就逃跑，來到比珥，住在那裡。
