哥林多後書 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

詩篇 92:12 - 15 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, "The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him."
義人要發旺如棕樹,生長如利巴嫩的香柏樹。 他們栽於耶和華的殿中,發旺在我們神的院裡。 他們年老的時候仍要結果子,要滿了汁漿而常發青, 好顯明耶和華是正直的。他是我的磐石,在他毫無不義。
約伯記 12:12 Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?
年老的有智慧;壽高的有知識。

提摩太前書 5:1 - 2 Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.
不可嚴責老年人,只要勸他如同父親;勸少年人如同弟兄; 勸老年婦女如同母親;勸少年婦女如同姐妹;總要清清潔潔的。

詩篇 91:1 - 16 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, "The Lord is my refuge," and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. "Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."
住在至高者隱密處的,必住在全能者的蔭下。 我要論到耶和華說:他是我的避難所,是我的山寨,是我的神,是我所倚靠的。 他必救你脫離捕鳥人的網羅和毒害的瘟疫。 他必用自己的翎毛遮蔽你;你要投靠在他的翅膀底下;他的誠實是大小的盾牌。 你必不怕黑夜的驚駭,或是白日飛的箭, 也不怕黑夜行的瘟疫,或是午間滅人的毒病。 雖有千人仆倒在你旁邊,萬人仆倒在你右邊,這災卻不得臨近你。 你惟親眼觀看,見惡人遭報。 耶和華是我的避難所;你已將至高者當你的居所, 禍患必不臨到你,災害也不挨近你的帳棚。 因他要為你吩咐他的使者,在你行的一切道路上保護你。 他們要用手托著你,免得你的腳碰在石頭上。 你要踹在獅子和虺蛇的身上,踐踏少壯獅子和大蛇。 神說:因為他專心愛我,我就要搭救他;因為他知道我的名,我要把他安置在高處。 他若求告我,我就應允他;他在急難中,我要與他同在;我要搭救他,使他尊貴。 我要使他足享長壽,將我的救恩顯明給他。
詩篇 90:10 Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
我們一生的年日是七十歲,若是強壯可到八十歲;但其中所矜誇的不過是勞苦愁煩,轉眼成空,我們便如飛而去。

提摩太前書 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
人若不看顧親屬,就是背了真道,比不信的人還不好,不看顧自己家裡的人,更是如此。

這樣,約伯年紀老邁,日子滿足而死。

傳道書 12:1 - 7 Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them"- before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds return after the rain; when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men stoop, when the grinders cease because they are few, and those looking through the windows grow dim; when the doors to the street are closed and the sound of grinding fades; when people rise up at the sound of birds, but all their songs grow faint; when people are afraid of heights and of dangers in the streets; when the almond tree blossoms and the grasshopper drags itself along and desire no longer is stirred. Then people go to their eternal home and mourners go about the streets. Remember him-before the silver cord is severed, and the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel broken at the well, and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
你趁著年幼、衰敗的日子尚未來到,就是你所說,我毫無喜樂的那些年日未曾臨近之先,當記念造你的主。 不要等到日頭、光明、月亮、星宿變為黑暗,雨後雲彩反回, 看守房屋的發顫,有力的屈身,推磨的稀少就止息,從窗戶往外看的都昏暗; 街門關閉,推磨的響聲微小,雀鳥一叫,人就起來,唱歌的女子也都衰微。 人怕高處,路上有驚慌,杏樹開花,蚱蜢成為重擔,人所願的也都廢掉;因為人歸他永遠的家,弔喪的在街上往來。 銀鍊折斷,金罐破裂,瓶子在泉旁損壞,水輪在井口破爛, 塵土仍歸於地,靈仍歸於賜靈的神。
以賽亞書 43:1 - 3 But now, this is what the Lord says- he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.
雅各啊,創造你的耶和華,以色列啊,造成你的那位,現在如此說:你不要害怕!因為我救贖了你。我曾提你的名召你,你是屬我的。 你從水中經過,我必與你同在;你逿過江河,水必不漫過你;你從火中行過,必不被燒,火焰也不著在你身上。 因為我是耶和華你的神,是以色列的聖者你的救主;我已經使埃及作你的贖價,使古實和西巴代替你。
創世記 6:3 Then the Lord said, "My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal ; their days will be a hundred and twenty years."
耶和華說:「人既屬乎血氣,我的靈就不永遠住在他裡面;然而他的日子還可到一百二十年。」

以賽亞書 40:28 - 31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
你豈不曾知道嗎?你豈不曾聽見嗎?永在的神耶和華,創造地極的主,並不疲乏,也不困倦;他的智慧無法測度。 疲乏的,他賜能力;軟弱的,他加力量。 就是少年人也要疲乏困倦;強壯的也必全然跌倒。 但那等候耶和華的必從新得力。他們必如鷹展翅上騰;他們奔跑卻不困倦,行走卻不疲乏。
腓立比書 3:20 - 21 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
我們卻是天上的國民,並且等候救主,就是主耶穌基督從天上降臨。 他要按著那能叫萬有歸服自己的大能,將我們這卑賤的身體改變形狀,和他自己榮耀的身體相似。
創世記 27:1 When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could no longer see, he called for Esau his older son and said to him, "My son." "Here I am," he answered.
以撒年老,眼睛昏花,不能看見,就叫了他大兒子以掃來,說:「我兒。」以掃說:「我在這裡。」
