以賽亞書 66:10
- 13
"Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her.
For you will nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you will drink deeply and delight in her overflowing abundance."
For this is what the Lord says: "I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees.
As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem."
你們愛慕耶路撒冷的都要與他一同歡喜快樂；你們為他悲哀的都要與他一同樂上加樂；
使你們在他安慰的懷中吃奶得飽，使他們得他豐盛的榮耀，猶如擠奶，滿心喜樂。
耶和華如此說：我要使平安延及他，好像江河，使列國的榮耀延及他，如同漲溢的河。你們要從中享受（原文作咂）；你們必蒙抱在肋旁，搖弄在膝上。
母親怎樣安慰兒子，我就照樣安慰你們；你們也必因（或作：在）耶路撒冷得安慰。
耶利米哀歌 4:3
Even jackals offer their breasts to nurse their young, but my people have become heartless like ostriches in the desert.

When her husband Elkanah went up with all his family to offer the annual sacrifice to the Lord and to fulfill his vow,
Hannah did not go. She said to her husband, "After the boy is weaned, I will take him and present him before the Lord, and he will live there always."
"Do what seems best to you," her husband Elkanah told her. "Stay here until you have weaned him; only may the Lord make good his word." So the woman stayed at home and nursed her son until she had weaned him.
After he was weaned, she took the boy with her, young as he was, along with a three-year-old bull, an ephah1:24That is, probably about 36 pounds or about 16 kilograms of flour and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh.
以利加拿和他全家都上示羅去，要向耶和華獻年祭，並還所許的願。
哈拿卻沒有上去，對丈夫說：「等孩子斷了奶，我便帶他上去朝見耶和華，使他永遠住在那裡。」
他丈夫以利加拿說：「就隨你的意行吧！可以等兒子斷了奶。但願耶和華應驗他的話。」於是婦人在家裡乳養兒子，直到斷了奶；
既斷了奶，就把孩子帶上示羅，到了耶和華的殿；又帶了三隻公牛，一伊法細麵，一皮袋酒。（那時，孩子還小。）
詩篇 22:9
Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even at my mother's breast.
但你是叫我出母腹的；我在母懷裡，你就使我有倚靠的心。
創世記 21:7
And she added, "Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age."
又說：「誰能預先對亞伯拉罕說『撒拉要乳養嬰孩』呢？因為在他年老的時候，我給他生了一個兒子。」
