箴言 28:6 Better the poor whose walk is blameless than the rich whose ways are perverse.
行為純正的窮乏人勝過行事乖僻的富足人。
馬可福音 8:36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
人就是賺得全世界,賠上自己的生命,有什麼益處呢?
申命記 8:18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
你要記念耶和華你的神,因為得貨財的力量是他給你的,為要堅定他向你列祖起誓所立的約,像今日一樣。
箴言 10:4 Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.
手懶的,要受貧窮;手勤的,卻要富足。
哥林多後書 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
各人要隨本心所酌定的,不要作難,不要勉強,因為捐得樂意的人是神所喜愛的。
箴言 11:4 Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
發怒的日子資財無益;惟有公義能救人脫離死亡。
箴言 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
驕傲來,羞恥也來;謙遜人卻有智慧。
箴言 22:7 The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
富戶管轄窮人;欠債的是債主的僕人。
箴言 23:4 Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness.
不要勞碌求富,休仗自己的聰明。
路加福音 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
你們要給人,就必有給你們的,並且用十足的升斗,連搖帶按,上尖下流的倒在你們懷裡;因為你們用什麼量器量給人,也必用什麼量器量給你們。」
以弗所書 4:28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
從前偷竊的,不要再偷;總要勞力,親手做正經事,就可有餘分給那缺少的人。
提摩太前書 6:17 - 18 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
你要囑咐那些今世富足的人,不要自高,也不要倚靠無定的錢財;只要倚靠那厚賜百物給我們享受的神。 又要囑咐他們行善,在好事上富足,甘心施捨,樂意供給(或作:體貼)人,
瑪拉基書 3:9 - 10 You are under a curse-your whole nation-because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
因你們通國的人都奪取我的供物,咒詛就臨到你們身上。 萬軍之耶和華說:你們要將當納的十分之一全然送入倉庫,使我家有糧,以此試試我,是否為你們敞開天上的窗戶,傾福與你們,甚至無處可容。
路加福音 16:13 "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."
一個僕人不能事奉兩個主;不是惡這個愛那個,就是重這個輕那個。你們不能又事奉神,又事奉瑪門。」
帖撒羅尼迦後書 3:10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat."
我們在你們那裡的時候,曾吩咐你們說,若有人不肯做工,就不可吃飯。
箴言 28:27 Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.
賙濟貧窮的,不至缺乏;佯為不見的,必多受咒詛。
提摩太前書 6:9 - 10 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
但那些想要發財的人,就陷在迷惑、落在網羅和許多無知有害的私慾裡,叫人沉在敗壞和滅亡中。 貪財是萬惡之根。有人貪戀錢財,就被引誘離了真道,用許多愁苦把自己刺透了。
雅各書 2:5 - 6 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?
我親愛的弟兄們,請聽,神豈不是揀選了世上的貧窮人,叫他們在信上富足,並承受他所應許給那些愛他之人的國嗎? 你們反倒羞辱貧窮人。那富足人豈不是欺壓你們,拉你們到公堂去嗎?
箴言 14:31 Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
欺壓貧寒的,是辱沒造他的主;憐憫窮乏的,乃是尊敬主。
箴言 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
驕傲在敗壞以先;狂心在跌倒之前。
箴言 21:17 Whoever loves pleasure will become poor; whoever loves wine and olive oil will never be rich.
愛宴樂的,必致窮乏;好酒,愛膏油的,必不富足。
箴言 22:1 A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
美名勝過大財;恩寵強如金銀。
箴言 23:21 for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags. Saying 17
因為好酒貪食的,必至貧窮;好睡覺的,必穿破爛衣服。
箴言 30:8 - 9 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the Lord?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.
求你使虛假和謊言遠離我;使我也不貧窮也不富足;賜給我需用的飲食, 恐怕我飽足不認你,說:耶和華是誰呢?又恐怕我貧窮就偷竊,以致褻瀆我神的名。
傳道書 4:4 And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person's envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
我又見人為一切的勞碌和各樣靈巧的工作就被鄰舍嫉妒。這也是虛空,也是捕風。
何西阿書 4:6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. "Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
我的民因無知識而滅亡。你棄掉知識,我也必棄掉你,使你不再給我作祭司。你既忘了你神的律法,我也必忘記你的兒女。
馬太福音 4:8 - 10 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.' "
魔鬼又帶他上了一座最高的山,將世上的萬國與萬國的榮華都指給他看, 對他說:「你若俯伏拜我,我就把這一切都賜給你。」 耶穌說:「撒但(撒但就是抵擋的意思,乃魔鬼的別名),退去吧!因為經上記著說:當拜主你的神,單要事奉他。」
馬太福音 6:31 - 33 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
所以,不要憂慮說:吃什麼?喝什麼?穿什麼? 這都是外邦人所求的,你們需用的這一切東西,你們的天父是知道的。 你們要先求他的國和他的義,這些東西都要加給你們了。
馬可福音 10:25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."
駱駝穿過針的眼,比財主進神的國還容易呢。」
路加福音 18:22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
耶穌聽見了,就說:「你還缺少一件:要變賣你一切所有的,分給窮人,就必有財寶在天上;你還要來跟從我。」
約翰一書 3:17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be that person?
凡有世上財物的,看見弟兄窮乏,卻塞住憐恤的心,愛神的心怎能存在他裡面呢?
