路加福音 9:62 Jesus replied, "No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."
耶穌說:「手扶著犁向後看的,不配進神的國。」
路加福音 16:13 "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."
一個僕人不能事奉兩個主;不是惡這個愛那個,就是重這個輕那個。你們不能又事奉神,又事奉瑪門。」
申命記 20:3 - 8 He shall say: "Hear, Israel: Today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." The officers shall say to the army: "Has anyone built a new house and not yet begun to live in it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else may begin to live in it. Has anyone planted a vineyard and not begun to enjoy it? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else enjoy it. Has anyone become pledged to a woman and not married her? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else marry her." Then the officers shall add, "Is anyone afraid or fainthearted? Let him go home so that his fellow soldiers will not become disheartened too."
說:『以色列人哪,你們當聽,你們今日將要與仇敵爭戰,不要膽怯,不要懼怕戰兢,也不要因他們驚恐; 因為耶和華你們的神與你們同去,要為你們與仇敵爭戰,拯救你們。』 官長也要對百姓宣告說:『誰建造房屋,尚未奉獻,他可以回家去,恐怕他陣亡,別人去奉獻。 誰種葡萄園,尚未用所結的果子,他可以回家去,恐怕他陣亡,別人去用。 誰聘定了妻,尚未迎娶,他可以回家去,恐怕他陣亡,別人去娶。』 官長又要對百姓宣告說:『誰懼怕膽怯,他可以回家去,恐怕他弟兄的心消化,和他一樣。』
列王記上 19:19 - 20 So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen, and he himself was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak around him. Elisha then left his oxen and ran after Elijah. "Let me kiss my father and mother goodbye," he said, "and then I will come with you." "Go back," Elijah replied. "What have I done to you?"
於是,以利亞離開那裡走了,遇見沙法的兒子以利沙耕地;在他前頭有十二對牛,自己趕著第十二對。以利亞到他那裡去,將自己的外衣搭在他身上。 以利沙就離開牛,跑到以利亞那裡,說:「求你容我先與父母親嘴,然後我便跟隨你。」以利亞對他說:「你回去吧,我向你做了什麼呢?」
