申命記 5:8 - 9 "You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
「『不可為自己雕刻偶像,也不可做什麼形像,彷彿上天、下地和地底下、水中的百物。 不可跪拜那些像,也不可事奉他,因為我耶和華你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的,我必追討他的罪,自父及子,直到三、四代;
申命記 4:28 There you will worship man-made gods of wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or eat or smell.
在那裡,你們必事奉人手所造的神,就是用木石造成、不能看、不能聽、不能吃、不能聞的神。
出埃及記 34:14 Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
不可敬拜別神;因為耶和華是忌邪的神,名為忌邪者。
詩篇 115:4 - 8 But their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell. They have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with their throats. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.
他們的偶像是金的,銀的,是人手所造的, 有口卻不能言,有眼卻不能看, 有耳卻不能聽,有鼻卻不能聞, 有手卻不能摸,有腳卻不能走,有喉嚨也不能出聲。 造他的要和他一樣;凡靠他的也要如此。
以賽亞書 2:18 and the idols will totally disappear.
偶像必全然廢棄。
約書亞記 23:16 If you violate the covenant of the Lord your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the Lord's anger will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from the good land he has given you."
你們若違背耶和華你們神吩咐你們所守的約,去事奉別神,叩拜他,耶和華的怒氣必向你們發作,使你們在他所賜的美地上速速滅亡。」
出埃及記 23:13 "Be careful to do everything I have said to you. Do not invoke the names of other gods; do not let them be heard on your lips.
「凡我對你們說的話,你們要謹守。別神的名,你不可提,也不可從你口中傳說。」
利未記 26:1 " 'Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the Lord your God.
「你們不可做什麼虛無的神像,不可立雕刻的偶像或是柱像,也不可在你們的地上安什麼鏨成的石像,向他跪拜,因為我是耶和華你們的神。
申命記 7:16 You must destroy all the peoples the Lord your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity and do not serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.
耶和華你神所要交給你的一切人民,你要將他們除滅;你眼不可顧惜他們。你也不可事奉他們的神,因這必成為你的網羅。
以西結書 14:3 "Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all?
「人子啊,這些人已將他們的假神接到心裡,把陷於罪的絆腳石放在面前,我豈能絲毫被他們求問嗎?
申命記 7:25 - 26 The images of their gods you are to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the Lord your God. Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. Regard it as vile and utterly detest it, for it is set apart for destruction.
他們雕刻的神像,你們要用火焚燒;其上的金銀,你不可貪圖,也不可收取,免得你因此陷入網羅;這原是耶和華你神所憎惡的。 可憎的物,你不可帶進家去;不然,你就成了當毀滅的,與那物一樣。你要十分厭惡,十分憎嫌,因為這是當毀滅的物。」
出埃及記 20:23 Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.
你們不可做什麼神像與我相配,不可為自己做金銀的神像。
哈巴谷書 2:18 - 19 "Of what value is an idol carved by a craftsman? Or an image that teaches lies? For the one who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak. Woe to him who says to wood, 'Come to life!' Or to lifeless stone, 'Wake up!' Can it give guidance? It is covered with gold and silver; there is no breath in it."
雕刻的偶像,人將他刻出來,有什麼益處呢?鑄造的偶像就是虛謊的師傅。製造者倚靠這啞巴偶像有什麼益處呢? 對木偶說:醒起!對啞巴石像說:起來!那人有禍了!這個還能教訓人嗎?看哪,是包裹金銀的,其中毫無氣息。
使徒行傳 17:29 "Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone-an image made by human design and skill.
我們既是神所生的,就不當以為神的神性像人用手藝、心思所雕刻的金、銀、石。
申命記 4:23 - 24 Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden. For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
你們要謹慎,免得忘記耶和華你們神與你們所立的約,為自己雕刻偶像,就是耶和華你神所禁止你做的偶像; 因為耶和華你的神乃是烈火,是忌邪的神。
耶利米書 3:24 - 25 From our youth shameful gods have consumed the fruits of our ancestors' labor- their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters. Let us lie down in our shame, and let our disgrace cover us. We have sinned against the Lord our God, both we and our ancestors; from our youth till this day we have not obeyed the Lord our God."
從我們幼年以來,那可恥的偶像將我們列祖所勞碌得來的羊群、牛群,和他們的兒女都吞吃了。 我們在羞恥中躺臥吧!願慚愧將我們遮蓋;因為從立國(原文作幼年)以來,我們和我們的列祖常常得罪耶和華我們的神,沒有聽從耶和華我們神的話。
以西結書 14:4 - 5 Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When any of the Israelites set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself in keeping with their great idolatry. I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.'
所以你要告訴他們:『主耶和華如此說:以色列家的人中,凡將他的假神接到心裡,把陷於罪的絆腳石放在面前,又就了先知來的,我耶和華在他所求的事上,必按他眾多的假神回答他(或作:必按他拜許多假神的罪報應他), 好在以色列家的心事上捉住他們,因為他們都藉著假神與我生疏。』
申命記 27:15 "Cursed is anyone who makes an idol-a thing detestable to the Lord, the work of skilled hands-and sets it up in secret." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
「『有人製造耶和華所憎惡的偶像,或雕刻,或鑄造,就是工匠手所做的,在暗中設立,那人必受咒詛!』百姓都要答應說:『阿們!』
詩篇 16:4 Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips.
以別神代替耶和華的(或作:送禮物給別神的),他們的愁苦必加增;他們所澆奠的血我不獻上;我嘴唇也不提別神的名號。
以賽亞書 46:6 - 7 Some pour out gold from their bags and weigh out silver on the scales; they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god, and they bow down and worship it. They lift it to their shoulders and carry it; they set it up in its place, and there it stands. From that spot it cannot move. Even though someone cries out to it, it cannot answer; it cannot save them from their troubles.
那從囊中抓金子,用天平平銀子的人,雇銀匠製造神像,他們又俯伏,又叩拜。 他們將神像抬起,扛在肩上,安置在定處,他就站立,不離本位;人呼求他,他不能答應,也不能救人脫離患難。
約翰一書 5:21 Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.
小子們哪,你們要自守,遠避偶像!
士師記 8:27 Gideon made the gold into an ephod, which he placed in Ophrah, his town. All Israel prostituted themselves by worshiping it there, and it became a snare to Gideon and his family.
基甸以此製造了一個以弗得,設立在本城俄弗拉。後來以色列人拜那以弗得行了邪淫;這就作了基甸和他全家的網羅。
撒母耳記上 12:21 Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless.
若偏離耶和華去順從那不能救人的虛神是無益的。
詩篇 81:9 - 10 You shall have no foreign god among you; you shall not worship any god other than me. I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.
在你當中,不可有別的神;外邦的神,你也不可下拜。 我是耶和華你的神,曾把你從埃及地領上來;你要大大張口,我就給你充滿。
申命記 4:25 After you have had children and grandchildren and have lived in the land a long time-if you then become corrupt and make any kind of idol, doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God and arousing his anger,
「你們在那地住久了,生子生孫,就雕刻偶像,彷彿什麼形像,敗壞自己,行耶和華你神眼中看為惡的事,惹他發怒。
約書亞記 24:20 If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you."
你們若離棄耶和華去事奉外邦神,耶和華在降福之後,必轉而降禍與你們,把你們滅絕。」
以賽亞書 31:7 For in that day every one of you will reject the idols of silver and gold your sinful hands have made.
到那日,各人必將他金偶像銀偶像,就是親手所造、陷自己在罪中的,都拋棄了。
耶利米書 7:6 if you do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm,
不欺壓寄居的和孤兒寡婦;在這地方不流無辜人的血,也不隨從別神陷害自己;
耶利米書 8:19 Listen to the cry of my people from a land far away: "Is the Lord not in Zion? Is her King no longer there?" "Why have they aroused my anger with their images, with their worthless foreign idols?"
聽啊,是我百姓的哀聲從極遠之地而來,說:耶和華不在錫安嗎?錫安的王不在其中嗎?耶和華說:他們為什麼以雕刻的偶像和外邦虛無的神惹我發怒呢?
申命記 12:30 and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared by inquiring about their gods, saying, "How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same."
那時就要謹慎,不可在他們除滅之後隨從他們的惡俗,陷入網羅,也不可訪問他們的神說:『這些國民怎樣事奉他們的神,我也要照樣行。』
以賽亞書 44:14 - 17 He cut down cedars, or perhaps took a cypress or oak. He let it grow among the trees of the forest, or planted a pine, and the rain made it grow. It is used as fuel for burning; some of it he takes and warms himself, he kindles a fire and bakes bread. But he also fashions a god and worships it; he makes an idol and bows down to it. Half of the wood he burns in the fire; over it he prepares his meal, he roasts his meat and eats his fill. He also warms himself and says, "Ah! I am warm; I see the fire." From the rest he makes a god, his idol; he bows down to it and worships. He prays to it and says, "Save me! You are my god!"
他砍伐香柏樹,又取柞(或作:青桐)樹和橡樹,在樹林中選定了一棵。他栽種松樹,得雨長養。 這樹,人可用以燒火;他自己取些烤火,又燒著烤餅,而且做神像跪拜,做雕刻的偶像向他叩拜。 他把一分燒在火中,把一分烤肉吃飽。自己烤火說:「啊哈,我暖和了,我見火了。」 他用剩下的做了一神,就是雕刻的偶像。他向這偶像俯伏叩拜,禱告他說:「求你拯救我,因你是我的神。」
以賽亞書 45:16 All the makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced; they will go off into disgrace together.
凡製造偶像的都必抱愧蒙羞,都要一同歸於慚愧。
耶利米書 10:3 - 5 For the practices of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter. Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good."
眾民的風俗是虛空的;他們在樹林中用斧子砍伐一棵樹,匠人用手工造成偶像。 他們用金銀妝飾他,用釘子和錘子釘穩,使他不動搖。 他好像棕樹,是鏇成的,不能說話,不能行走,必須有人抬著。你們不要怕他;他不能降禍,也無力降福。
耶利米書 2:27 - 28 They say to wood, 'You are my father,' and to stone, 'You gave me birth.' They have turned their backs to me and not their faces; yet when they are in trouble, they say, 'Come and save us!' Where then are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them come if they can save you when you are in trouble! For you, Judah, have as many gods as you have towns.
他們向木頭說:你是我的父;向石頭說:你是生我的。他們以背向我,不以面向我;及至遭遇患難的時候卻說:起來拯救我們。 你為自己做的神在那裡呢?你遭遇患難的時候,叫他們起來拯救你吧!猶大啊,你神的數目與你城的數目相等。
耶利米書 10:14 - 15 Everyone is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. The images he makes are a fraud; they have no breath in them. They are worthless, the objects of mockery; when their judgment comes, they will perish.
各人都成了畜類,毫無知識;各銀匠都因他雕刻的偶像羞愧。他所鑄的偶像本是虛假的,其中並無氣息, 都是虛無的,是迷惑人的工作;到追討的時候必被除滅。
何西阿書 13:4 "But I have been the Lord your God ever since you came out of Egypt. You shall acknowledge no God but me, no Savior except me.
自從你出埃及地以來,我就是耶和華你的神。在我以外,你不可認識別神;除我以外並沒有救主。
彌迦書 5:13 I will destroy your idols and your sacred stones from among you; you will no longer bow down to the work of your hands.
我必從你中間除滅雕刻的偶像和柱像,你就不再跪拜自己手所造的。
利未記 19:4 " 'Do not turn to idols or make metal gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.
你們不可偏向虛無的神,也不可為自己鑄造神像。我是耶和華你們的神。
申命記 30:17 - 18 But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
倘若你心裡偏離,不肯聽從,卻被勾引去敬拜事奉別神, 我今日明明告訴你們,你們必要滅亡;在你過約但河、進去得為業的地上,你的日子必不長久。
申命記 32:16 - 17 They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols. They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God- gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear.
敬拜別神,觸動神的憤恨,行可憎惡的事,惹了他的怒氣。 所祭祀的鬼魔並非真神,乃是素不認識的神,是近來新興的,是你列祖所不畏懼的。
以賽亞書 42:17 But those who trust in idols, who say to images, 'You are our gods,' will be turned back in utter shame.
倚靠雕刻的偶像,對鑄造的偶像說:你是我們的神;這等人要退後,全然蒙羞。
以賽亞書 44:9 - 11 All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind; they are ignorant, to their own shame. Who shapes a god and casts an idol, which can profit nothing? People who do that will be put to shame; such craftsmen are only human beings. Let them all come together and take their stand; they will be brought down to terror and shame.
製造雕刻偶像的盡都虛空;他們所喜悅的都無益處;他們的見證無所看見,無所知曉,他們便覺羞愧。 誰製造神像,鑄造無益的偶像? 看哪,他的同伴都必羞愧。工匠也不過是人,任他們聚會,任他們站立,都必懼怕,一同羞愧。
以賽亞書 45:20 "Gather together and come; assemble, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood, who pray to gods that cannot save.
你們從列國逃脫的人,要一同聚集前來。那些抬著雕刻木偶、禱告不能救人之神的,毫無知識。
以西結書 6:9 Then in the nations where they have been carried captive, those who escape will remember me-how I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices.
那脫離刀劍的人必在所擄到的各國中記念我,為他們心中何等傷破,是因他們起淫心,遠離我,眼對偶像行邪淫。他們因行一切可憎的惡事,必厭惡自己。
但以理書 5:23 Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.
竟向天上的主自高,使人將他殿中的器皿拿到你面前,你和大臣、皇后、妃嬪用這器皿飲酒。你又讚美那不能看、不能聽、無知無識、金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所造的神,卻沒有將榮耀歸與那手中有你氣息,管理你一切行動的神。
申命記 4:15 - 19 You saw no form of any kind the day the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars-all the heavenly array-do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.
「所以,你們要分外謹慎;因為耶和華在何烈山、從火中對你們說話的那日,你們沒有看見什麼形像。 惟恐你們敗壞自己,雕刻偶像,彷彿什麼男像女像, 或地上走獸的像,或空中飛鳥的像, 或地上爬物的像,或地底下水中魚的像。 又恐怕你向天舉目觀看,見耶和華你的神為天下萬民所擺列的日月星,就是天上的萬象,自己便被勾引敬拜事奉他。
耶利米書 1:16 I will pronounce my judgments on my people because of their wickedness in forsaking me, in burning incense to other gods and in worshiping what their hands have made.
至於這民的一切惡,就是離棄我、向別神燒香、跪拜自己手所造的,我要發出我的判語,攻擊他們。
約書亞記 23:7 - 8 Do not associate with these nations that remain among you; do not invoke the names of their gods or swear by them. You must not serve them or bow down to them. But you are to hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have until now.
不可與你們中間所剩下的這些國民攙雜。他們的神,你們不可提他的名,不可指著他起誓,也不可事奉、叩拜; 只要照著你們到今日所行的,專靠耶和華你們的神。
箴言 25:6 - 7 Do not exalt yourself in the king's presence, and do not claim a place among his great men; it is better for him to say to you, "Come up here," than for him to humiliate you before his nobles. What you have seen with your eyes
不要在王面前妄自尊大;不要在大人的位上站立。 寧可有人說:請你上來,強如在你覲見的王子面前叫你退下。
何西阿書 10:1 - 2 Israel was a spreading vine; he brought forth fruit for himself. As his fruit increased, he built more altars; as his land prospered, he adorned his sacred stones. Their heart is deceitful, and now they must bear their guilt. The Lord will demolish their altars and destroy their sacred stones.
以色列是茂盛的葡萄樹,結果繁多。果子越多,就越增添祭壇;地土越肥美,就越造美麗的柱像。 他們心懷二意,現今要定為有罪。耶和華必拆毀他們的祭壇,毀壞他們的柱像。
