羅馬書 1:22 - 23 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
自稱為聰明,反成了愚拙, 將不能朽壞之神的榮耀變為偶像,彷彿必朽壞的人和飛禽、走獸、昆蟲的樣式。
撒母耳記上 2:3 "Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the Lord is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed.
人不要誇口說驕傲的話,也不要出狂妄的言語;因耶和華是大有智識的神,人的行為被他衡量。
傳道書 8:17 then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all their efforts to search it out, no one can discover its meaning. Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it.
我就看明神一切的作為,知道人查不出日光之下所做的事;任憑他費多少力尋查,都查不出來,就是智慧人雖想知道,也是查不出來。
創世記 6:12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.
神觀看世界,見是敗壞了;凡有血氣的人在地上都敗壞了行為。
箴言 23:9 Do not speak to fools, for they will scorn your prudent words. Saying 11
你不要說話給愚昧人聽,因他必藐視你智慧的言語。
詩篇 14:1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.
(大衛的詩,交與伶長。)愚頑人心裡說:沒有神。他們都是邪惡,行了可憎惡的事;沒有一個人行善。
箴言 22:29 Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.
你看見辦事殷勤的人嗎?他必站在君王面前,必不站在下賤人面前。
箴言 27:21 The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but people are tested by their praise.
鼎為煉銀,爐為煉金,人的稱讚也試煉人。
詩篇 37:16 Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked;
一個義人所有的雖少,強過許多惡人的富餘。
詩篇 62:9 Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath.
下流人真是虛空;上流人也是虛假;放在天平裡就必浮起;他們一共比空氣還輕。
詩篇 78:39 He remembered that they were but flesh, a passing breeze that does not return.
他想到他們不過是血氣,是一陣去而不返的風。
詩篇 94:11 The Lord knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile.
耶和華知道人的意念是虛妄的。
箴言 9:8 Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you.
不要責備褻慢人,恐怕他恨你;要責備智慧人,他必愛你。
箴言 18:2 Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.
愚昧人不喜愛明哲,只喜愛顯露心意。
箴言 18:17 In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right, until someone comes forward and cross-examines.
先訴情由的,似乎有理;但鄰舍來到,就察出實情。
箴言 19:3 A person's own folly leads to their ruin, yet their heart rages against the Lord.
人的愚昧傾敗他的道;他的心也抱怨耶和華。
馬太福音 15:13 - 14 He replied, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit."
耶穌回答說:「凡栽種的物,若不是我天父栽種的,必要拔出來。 任憑他們吧!他們是瞎眼領路的;若是瞎子領瞎子,兩個人都要掉在坑裡。」
馬太福音 26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
總要警醒禱告,免得入了迷惑。你們心靈固然願意,肉體卻軟弱了。」
羅馬書 1:25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-who is forever praised. Amen.
他們將神的真實變為虛謊,去敬拜事奉受造之物,不敬奉那造物的主;主乃是可稱頌的,直到永遠。阿們!
約伯記 11:11 - 12 Surely he recognizes deceivers; and when he sees evil, does he not take note? But the witless can no more become wise than a wild donkey's colt can be born human.
他本知道虛妄的人;人的罪孽,他雖不留意,還是無所不見。 空虛的人卻毫無知識;人生在世好像野驢的駒子。
詩篇 6:2 - 3 Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long?
耶和華啊,求你可憐我,因為我軟弱。耶和華啊,求你醫治我,因為我的骨頭發戰。 我心也大大的驚惶。耶和華啊,你要到幾時才救我呢?
詩篇 62:10 Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
不要仗勢欺人,也不要因搶奪而驕傲;若財寶加增,不要放在心上。
詩篇 77:2 - 10 When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted. I remembered you, God, and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint. You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak. I thought about the former days, the years of long ago; I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked: "Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again? Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time? Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?" Then I thought, "To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand.
我在患難之日尋求主;我在夜間不住的舉手禱告;我的心不肯受安慰。 我想念神,就煩燥不安;我沉吟悲傷,心便發昏。(細拉) 你叫我不能閉眼;我煩亂不安,甚至不能說話。 我追想古時之日,上古之年。 我想起我夜間的歌曲,捫心自問;我心裡也仔細省察。 難道主要永遠丟棄我,不再施恩嗎? 難道他的慈愛永遠窮盡,他的應許世世廢棄嗎? 難道神忘記開恩,因發怒就止住他的慈悲嗎?(細拉) 我便說:這是我的懦弱,但我要追念至高者顯出右手之年代。
箴言 9:12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.
你若有智慧,是與自己有益;你若褻慢,就必獨自擔當。
箴言 14:30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
心中安靜是肉體的生命;嫉妒是骨中的朽爛。
箴言 17:12 Better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than a fool bent on folly.
寧可遇見丟崽子的母熊,不可遇見正行愚妄的愚昧人。
箴言 19:11 A person's wisdom yields patience; it is to one's glory to overlook an offense.
人有見識就不輕易發怒;寬恕人的過失便是自己的榮耀。
箴言 20:19 A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.
往來傳舌的,洩漏密事;大張嘴的,不可與他結交。
箴言 26:9 Like a thornbush in a drunkard's hand is a proverb in the mouth of a fool.
箴言在愚昧人的口中,好像荊棘刺入醉漢的手。
箴言 27:2 Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips.
要別人誇獎你,不可用口自誇;等外人稱讚你,不可用嘴自稱。
箴言 27:9 Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice.
膏油與香料使人心喜悅;朋友誠實的勸教也是如此甘美。
傳道書 4:13 Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to heed a warning.
貧窮而有智慧的少年人勝過年老不肯納諫的愚昧王。
以賽亞書 44:19 - 20 No one stops to think, no one has the knowledge or understanding to say, "Half of it I used for fuel; I even baked bread over its coals, I roasted meat and I ate. Shall I make a detestable thing from what is left? Shall I bow down to a block of wood?" Such a person feeds on ashes; a deluded heart misleads him; he cannot save himself, or say, "Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?"
誰心裡也不醒悟,也沒有知識,沒有聰明,能說:「我曾拿一分在火中燒了,在炭火上烤過餅;我也烤過肉吃。這剩下的,我豈要作可憎的物嗎?我豈可向木?子叩拜呢?」 他以灰為食,心中昏迷,使他偏邪,他不能自救,也不能說:「我右手中豈不是有虛謊嗎?」
耶利米書 2:5 This is what the Lord says: "What fault did your ancestors find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves.
耶和華如此說:你們的列祖見我有什麼不義,竟遠離我,隨從虛無的神,自己成為虛妄的呢?
耶利米書 3:23 Surely the idolatrous commotion on the hills and mountains is a deception; surely in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.
仰望從小山或從大山的喧嚷中得幫助,真是枉然的。以色列得救,誠然在乎耶和華我們的神。
歌羅西書 4:5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.
你們要愛惜光陰,用智慧與外人交往。
雅各書 4:1 - 2 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.
你們中間的爭戰鬥毆是從那裡來的呢?不是從你們百體中戰鬥之私慾來的嗎? 你們貪戀,還是得不著;你們殺害嫉妒,又鬥毆爭戰,也不能得。你們得不著,是因為你們不求。
詩篇 49:20 People who have wealth but lack understanding are like the beasts that perish.
人在尊貴中而不醒悟,就如死亡的畜類一樣。
詩篇 139:6 - 7 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
這樣的知識奇妙,是我不能測的,至高,是我不能及的。 我往那裡去躲避你的靈?我往那裡逃、躲避你的面?
箴言 3:35 The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame.
智慧人必承受尊榮;愚昧人高陞也成為羞辱。
箴言 9:6 Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight."
你們愚蒙人,要捨棄愚蒙,就得存活,並要走光明的道。
箴言 10:9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
行正直路的,步步安穩;走彎曲道的,必致敗露。
箴言 11:22 Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.
婦女美貌而無見識,如同金環帶在豬鼻上。
箴言 21:17 Whoever loves pleasure will become poor; whoever loves wine and olive oil will never be rich.
愛宴樂的,必致窮乏;好酒,愛膏油的,必不富足。
箴言 25:19 Like a broken tooth or a lame foot is reliance on the unfaithful in a time of trouble.
患難時倚靠不忠誠的人,好像破壞的牙,錯骨縫的腳。
傳道書 7:21 - 22 Do not pay attention to every word people say, or you may hear your servant cursing you- for you know in your heart that many times you yourself have cursed others.
人所說的一切話,你不要放在心上,恐怕聽見你的僕人咒詛你。 因為你心裡知道,自己也曾屢次咒詛別人。
傳道書 10:3 Even as fools walk along the road, they lack sense and show everyone how stupid they are.
並且愚昧人行路顯出無知,對眾人說,他是愚昧人。
傳道書 10:10 If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success.
鐵器鈍了,若不將刃磨快,就必多費氣力;但得智慧指教,便有益處。
傳道書 11:6 Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.
早晨要撒你的種,晚上也不要歇你的手,因為你不知道哪一樣發旺;或是早撒的,或是晚撒的,或是兩樣都好。
以賽亞書 10:15 Does the ax raise itself above the person who swings it, or the saw boast against the one who uses it? As if a rod were to wield the person who lifts it up, or a club brandish the one who is not wood!
斧豈可向用斧砍木的自誇呢?鋸豈可向用鋸的自大呢?好比棍掄起那舉棍的,好比杖舉起那非木的人。
