以西結書 22:29 The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery; they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the foreigner, denying them justice.
國內眾民一味地欺壓,慣行搶奪,虧負困苦窮乏的,背理欺壓寄居的。
出埃及記 22:21 - 24 "Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt. "Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.
「不可虧負寄居的,也不可欺壓他,因為你們在埃及地也作過寄居的。 不可苦待寡婦和孤兒; 若是苦待他們一點,他們向我一哀求,我總要聽他們的哀聲, 並要發烈怒,用刀殺你們,使你們的妻子為寡婦,兒女為孤兒。
傳道書 5:8 If you see the poor oppressed in a district, and justice and rights denied, do not be surprised at such things; for one official is eyed by a higher one, and over them both are others higher still.
你若在一省之中見窮人受欺壓,並奪去公義公平的事,不要因此詫異;因有一位高過居高位的鑒察,在他們以上還有更高的。
箴言 22:22 Do not exploit the poor because they are poor and do not crush the needy in court,
貧窮人,你不可因他貧窮就搶奪他的物,也不可在城門口欺壓困苦人;
傳道書 7:7 Extortion turns a wise person into a fool, and a bribe corrupts the heart.
勒索使智慧人變為愚妄;賄賂能敗壞人的慧心。
以賽亞書 1:17 Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
學習行善,尋求公平,解救受欺壓的;給孤兒伸冤,為寡婦辨屈。
詩篇 9:9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
耶和華又要給受欺壓的人作高臺,在患難的時候作高臺。
以賽亞書 33:15 - 16 Those who walk righteously and speak what is right, who reject gain from extortion and keep their hands from accepting bribes, who stop their ears against plots of murder and shut their eyes against contemplating evil- they are the ones who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. Their bread will be supplied, and water will not fail them.
行事公義、說話正直、憎惡欺壓的財利、擺手不受賄賂、塞耳不聽流血的話,閉眼不看邪惡事的, 他必居高處;他的保障是磐石的堅壘;他的糧必不缺乏(原文作賜給);他的水必不斷絕。
以賽亞書 58:6 "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
我所揀選的禁食不是要鬆開兇惡的繩,解下軛上的索,使被欺壓的得自由,折斷一切的軛嗎?
阿摩司書 5:11 - 12 You levy a straw tax on the poor and impose a tax on their grain. Therefore, though you have built stone mansions, you will not live in them; though you have planted lush vineyards, you will not drink their wine. For I know how many are your offenses and how great your sins. There are those who oppress the innocent and take bribes and deprive the poor of justice in the courts.
你們踐踏貧民,向他們勒索麥子;你們用鑿過的石頭建造房屋,卻不得住在其內;栽種美好的葡萄園,卻不得喝所出的酒。 我知道你們的罪過何等多,你們的罪惡何等大。你們苦待義人,收受賄賂,在城門口屈枉窮乏人。
哈巴谷書 2:5 - 11 indeed, wine betrays him; he is arrogant and never at rest. Because he is as greedy as the grave and like death is never satisfied, he gathers to himself all the nations and takes captive all the peoples. "Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying, " 'Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion! How long must this go on?' Will not your creditors suddenly arise? Will they not wake up and make you tremble? Then you will become their prey. Because you have plundered many nations, the peoples who are left will plunder you. For you have shed human blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them. "Woe to him who builds his house by unjust gain, setting his nest on high to escape the clutches of ruin! You have plotted the ruin of many peoples, shaming your own house and forfeiting your life. The stones of the wall will cry out, and the beams of the woodwork will echo it.
迦勒底人因酒詭詐,狂傲,不住在家中,擴充心欲,好像陰間。他如死不能知足,聚集萬國,堆積萬民都歸自己。 這些國的民豈不都要提起詩歌並俗語譏刺他說:禍哉!迦勒底人,你增添不屬自己的財物,多多取人的當頭,要到幾時為止呢? 咬傷你的豈不忽然起來,擾害你的豈不興起,你就作他們的擄物嗎? 因你搶奪許多的國,殺人流血,向國內的城並城中一切居民施行強暴,所以各國剩下的民都必搶奪你。 為本家積蓄不義之財、在高處搭窩、指望免災的有禍了! 你圖謀剪除多國的民,犯了罪,使你的家蒙羞,自害己命。 牆裡的石頭必呼叫;房內的棟梁必應聲。
馬太福音 23:2 - 4 "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
說:「文士和法利賽人坐在摩西的位上, 凡他們所吩咐你們的,你們都要謹守遵行;但不要效法他們的行為;因為他們能說,不能行。 他們把難擔的重擔捆起來,擱在人的肩上,但自己一個指頭也不肯動。
約伯記 27:13 - 23 "Here is the fate God allots to the wicked, the heritage a ruthless man receives from the Almighty: However many his children, their fate is the sword; his offspring will never have enough to eat. The plague will bury those who survive him, and their widows will not weep for them. Though he heaps up silver like dust and clothes like piles of clay, what he lays up the righteous will wear, and the innocent will divide his silver. The house he builds is like a moth's cocoon, like a hut made by a watchman. He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more; when he opens his eyes, all is gone. Terrors overtake him like a flood; a tempest snatches him away in the night. The east wind carries him off, and he is gone; it sweeps him out of his place. It hurls itself against him without mercy as he flees headlong from its power. It claps its hands in derision and hisses him out of his place."
神為惡人所定的分,強暴人從全能者所得的報(原文作產業)乃是這樣: 倘或他的兒女增多,還是被刀所殺;他的子孫必不得飽食。 他所遺留的人必死而埋葬;他的寡婦也不哀哭。 他雖積蓄銀子如塵沙,預備衣服如泥土; 他只管預備,義人卻要穿上;他的銀子,無辜的人要分取。 他建造房屋如蟲做窩,又如守望者所搭的棚。 他雖富足躺臥,卻不得收殮,轉眼之間就不在了。 驚恐如波濤將他追上;暴風在夜間將他颳去。 東風把他飄去,又颳他離開本處。 神要向他射箭,並不留情;他恨不得逃脫神的手。 人要向他拍掌,並要發叱聲,使他離開本處。
詩篇 62:10 Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
不要仗勢欺人,也不要因搶奪而驕傲;若財寶加增,不要放在心上。
詩篇 74:21 Do not let the oppressed retreat in disgrace; may the poor and needy praise your name.
不要叫受欺壓的人蒙羞回去;要叫困苦窮乏的人讚美你的名。
箴言 14:31 Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
欺壓貧寒的,是辱沒造他的主;憐憫窮乏的,乃是尊敬主。
箴言 28:3 A ruler who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no crops.
窮人欺壓貧民,好像暴雨沖沒糧食。
耶利米書 21:12 This is what the Lord says to you, house of David: " 'Administer justice every morning; rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed, or my wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done- burn with no one to quench it.
大衛家啊,耶和華如此說:你們每早晨要施行公平,拯救被搶奪的脫離欺壓人的手,恐怕我的忿怒因你們的惡行發作,如火著起,甚至無人能以熄滅。
以西結書 45:9 " 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You have gone far enough, princes of Israel! Give up your violence and oppression and do what is just and right. Stop dispossessing my people, declares the Sovereign Lord.
主耶和華如此說:「以色列的王啊,你們應當知足,要除掉強暴和搶奪的事,施行公平和公義,不再勒索我的民。這是主耶和華說的。
撒迦利亞書 7:10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.'
不可欺壓寡婦、孤兒、寄居的,和貧窮人。誰都不可心裡謀害弟兄。』」
雅各書 2:6 But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?
你們反倒羞辱貧窮人。那富足人豈不是欺壓你們,拉你們到公堂去嗎?
詩篇 10:17 - 18 You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.
耶和華啊,謙卑人的心願,你早已知道(原文作聽見)。你必預備他們的心,也必側耳聽他們的祈求, 為要給孤兒和受欺壓的人伸冤,使強橫的人不再威嚇他們。
阿摩司書 8:4 - 6 Hear this, you who trample the needy and do away with the poor of the land, saying, "When will the New Moon be over that we may sell grain, and the Sabbath be ended that we may market wheat?"- skimping on the measure, boosting the price and cheating with dishonest scales, buying the poor with silver and the needy for a pair of sandals, selling even the sweepings with the wheat.
你們這些要吞吃窮乏人、使困苦人衰敗的,當聽我的話! 你們說:月朔幾時過去,我們好賣糧;安息日幾時過去,我們好擺開麥子;賣出用小升斗,收銀用大戥子,用詭詐的天平欺哄人, 好用銀子買貧寒人,用一雙鞋換窮乏人,將壞了的麥子賣給人。
彌迦書 2:1 - 3 Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning's light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it. They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them. They defraud people of their homes, they rob them of their inheritance. Therefore, the Lord says: "I am planning disaster against this people, from which you cannot save yourselves. You will no longer walk proudly, for it will be a time of calamity.
禍哉,那些在床上圖謀罪孽、造作奸惡的!天一發亮,因手有能力就行出來了。 他們貪圖田地就佔據,貪圖房屋便奪取;他們欺壓人,霸佔房屋和產業。 所以耶和華如此說:我籌劃災禍降與這族;這禍在你們的頸項上不能解脫;你們也不能昂首而行,因為這時勢是惡的。
申命記 23:15 - 16 If a slave has taken refuge with you, do not hand them over to their master. Let them live among you wherever they like and in whatever town they choose. Do not oppress them.
「若有奴僕脫了主人的手,逃到你那裡,你不可將他交付他的主人。 他必在你那裡與你同住,在你的城邑中,要由他選擇一個所喜悅的地方居住;你不可欺負他。
申命記 24:14 - 15 Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns. Pay them their wages each day before sunset, because they are poor and are counting on it. Otherwise they may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
「困苦窮乏的雇工,無論是你的弟兄或是在你城裡寄居的,你不可欺負他。 要當日給他工價,不可等到日落,因為他窮苦,把心放在工價上,恐怕他因你求告耶和華,罪便歸你了。
詩篇 12:5 "Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise," says the Lord. "I will protect them from those who malign them."
耶和華說:因為困苦人的冤屈和貧窮人的歎息,我現在要起來,把他安置在他所切慕的穩妥之地。
詩篇 119:134 Redeem me from human oppression, that I may obey your precepts.
求你救我脫離人的欺壓,我要遵守你的訓詞。
傳道書 4:1 Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun: I saw the tears of the oppressed- and they have no comforter; power was on the side of their oppressors- and they have no comforter.
我又轉念,見日光之下所行的一切欺壓。看哪,受欺壓的流淚,且無人安慰;欺壓他們的有勢力,也無人安慰他們。
箴言 3:31 Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways.
不可嫉妒強暴的人,也不可選擇他所行的路。
箴言 30:14 those whose teeth are swords and whose jaws are set with knives to devour the poor from the earth and the needy from among mankind.
有一宗人,牙如劍,齒如刀,要吞滅地上的困苦人和世間的窮乏人。
